I applied for the open position online on June 15th. 7 business days later - June 26th - I received an email from Scot Lee - who is the head of the Bank’s learning and development department - asking if I would be available to schedule a phone interview for the following day - which is today June 27th. During the interview he asked average questions - what are you looking for in a new job, why are you looking to leave, etc. His position is not in HR so he was not able to answer any questions about the salary the position would offer other than to say salary was determined based on experience, the position and other factors. He was able to say they do not offer paid parental leave for new parents. I do not anticipate receiving any further communication from this company as I do not think they will be able to meet my salary requirements.
