      Interaction Designer Interview

      22 Mar 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Fjordnet (Dublin, Dublin) in Jan 2017

      Interview

One month after submitting my application, I was contacted by a recruiter from Accenture for an initial phone screen interview, which took approximately 30 minutes. The following month, I was invited to an interview via Skype with the Interaction Design Lead, which basically was an informal conversation that took less than 60 minutes and went pretty well. Finally, after another month waiting, I was told that I was no longer being considered for the position because the process was "highly competitive", even though the feedback received was positive. I was then invited to a follow-up discussion, so I emailed back to arrange a time, but I never got a reply. Not even after emailing again one month later. The process was too slow and disorganised, and there were often technical problems. I had to deal with 3 different recruiters from Accenture which didn't seem to communicate between each other, and constantly send them reminders to keep me up to date. I ended up feeling pretty frustrated.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Fjordnet (Madrid) in Apr 2019

      Interview

I had two rounds of interview. The first one was with the resource manager and the second one with the creative director. The first one went very well and happened so quick. I had applied for a business designer role but they suggested I am a better fit for a Service and Interaction Designer job. The second interview took a long time to happen and I was asked to prepare a presentation. It could be more helpful to know a realistic job description before going for an interview since I found out for both job titles they have a different expectation from the description provided in the job posts.

      Stockholm, Stockholm
      No offer
      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Fjordnet (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Dec 2018

      Interview

I was contacted 3 months (!) after application. The process was opaque and changing on the fly, the time required for the design task was grossly underestimated, Accenture only made it worse by their meddling, and there was an unplanned third interview with disinterested people and unreliable WiFi. However, the interviewer of the first two rounds was one of the nicest and most professional interviewer I've met.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There were general, behavioral questions, my interest areas and values in design, then a design task and then the same again with different people.
