I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Fleetio
Interview
8 rounds. Plus a case study. Friendly team - but high load.
Would have liked to have seen more emphasis on shared problem-solving. session etc.
Teams seem genuinely passionate during the interview.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Fleetio in Feb 2024
Interview
The interview process at Fleetio was one of the more intentional I've experienced.
My recruiter was organized and proactive, coaching me through each step so I knew what to expect and how to prepare.
My hiring manager struck the right balance — warm enough that I felt genuinely welcome and candid enough to give me an honest look at the real challenges of the role.
The panel round was a highlight: I got to meet future peers and cross-functional partners, including executives, which gave me a real sense of the culture and how the team operated.
I had a final round with the CEO — though I can't say if that's still part of the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to influence a decision without having direct authority over the people involved.
The hiring manager interview was quite sporadic. Instead of asking about specific experiences listed on my resume, it felt like a general get-through-all-the-questions quiz, with very sporadic questions where it felt like I was repeating answers again and again. I had no hopes for this one and just used it for practice because I had already seen that the position has been open for 3 months and is remote across the US, Canada, and Mexico. It's pretty clear that their interviewing process is just flawed or they're looking for some unicorn.
