I first completed a phone interview. This was followed by a day long interview with staff within the department. Everyone was extremely friendly, and I was told that I was one of three candidates. A week after the interview, I hadn’t heard a peep. I emailed them and heard nothing back for a month. They never apologized for the delay or for being unresponsive but instead contacted me to tell me they’d like me to consider applying for a different job. They attached the description. They seemed to think they were doing me a favor, but they were drumming up candidates. I never responded. Interviews go both ways!
