Got a recruiter call which laster for 15-20 min. That was the only positive thing about the interview.
I was sent an assessment titled 'Full Stack developer'. I emailed them asking to confirm if it is right one, since I had applied specifically for backend role. They assured me it's correct. I took the assessment which had a lot of 'full stack' questions instead. Seems like they use a cookie cutter approach.
Somehow, I was still cleared for the 1 hr telephonic interview. I was interviewed by two Senior developers. They highly focused on my resume rather than the requirements and job description for that specific role. There were a few things that I had used a long time ago and didn't bother brushing up, since they weren't a part of the job description anyway. Still, they asked a lot of those. Also, it felt like they were concentrating heavily on something that I've admitted to not knowing. (Example, I admitted that I have worked only on Spring Boot and not on Spring, still they were doing a deep dive into Spring modules like AOP).
Finally, they moved on to coding challenge which I handled easily; but at that point both, they as well as me, knew that I'm neither getting it not wanted to be there.
Overall, a negative experience. I'm actually glad I didn't end up on that team.
