I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Grainger (Baltimore, MD) in Feb 2014
Interview
HR Phone Screen, Interview with Hiring Manager & Another Manager, Phone interview with Regional Manager. Questions asked required the STAR format (Situation/Task, Action, Results). The interview process moved rapidly and the offer came the same week as phone interview.

I applied online. I interviewed at Grainger in Mar 2026
Interview
I spoke with HR and then had an interview with the hiring manager and one of his peers. Hiring manager called me a few days later and took me to lunch, where it seemed as though it was more of a "this is what you will be doing when you get the job" conversation than an interview. Hiring manager had me call another account manager and I had a great 45 minute conversation with him. Then I had another virtual interview with the hiring manager and another of his peers. I didn't hear back after a week, so I texted the hiring manager and he said he was out of the office but he'd follow up when he got back. A few days later, I got a stock email at Midnight that they decided to pursue other candidates. Texted the hiring manager but he never responded. This was the worst candidate experience I have ever had in my entire career. While I understand that there were better qualified candidates than me, the hiring manager could have at least reached out to me personally that they were going in another direction. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I consider it a blessing in disguise that I won't be working for a manager and an organization that treats people this way.
2 rounds- one with hiring manager and counterpart. Then I moved onto another with another manager and team member from the team I was joining. Typical STAR questions. Easy going. 3/5
