I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Grainger (Calgary, AB) in Jan 2022
Interview
i was contacted by Hayes sourcing for an Account Manager Job In Alberta. Hayes reviewed some info and said that they would like to Forward my name for an interview. I was contacted about a week later from the District Manager, as soon as we started we stopped as Marty said this position required the applicant to be living in Medicine Hat ( i was told nothing that i would have to Move) Marty suggested that there might be an opening in my area and that he would submit an application. about 3 weeks later i was contacted by the DM of Grainger asking if i was interested ( yes i replied ) then the next day Hayes called me and asked if i would be interested, again i expressed yes. I completed my first interview with the DM and was told all went very well. I never heard back for a couple weeks ( i was told they hired someone else ) Then Hayes reached back out to me saying that it didnt work out and would i still be interested. ( I did have two other offers but i did not want to travel across north America as i did in my previous job so i agreed to interview and from there i had 3 interviews and did a complete background check

I applied online. I interviewed at Grainger (Saskatoon, SK) in Apr 2026
Interview
Initial interview was easy, just asked about what you know about the company and STAR based. Although was told I would be interviewing in the next round and they really put that into my head only to get a one sentence email at 1am saying they went a different direction. Extremely misleading.
They asked STAR questions and very template questions just to fill in the pages per the manager. Although it could change since I went through this 6 years ago. They are stock driven, so learn a little about their market price and how they play in the industry.

Question 1
Tell me a time when you have to make a very difficult decision.
They do interviews in the typical STAR format. Very tiring as they ask you a ton of questions. If you can handle that kind of thing you'll be fine but the average interview is like 40 minutes of straight questions.

Desribe a time where you had to deal with a difficult customer. What was the issue and how did you overcome it.
