      Sales Director Interview

      29 Aug 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Grape Up in Aug 2024

      Interview

Talent team reached out for the senior position and wanted to organise an interview, which I was clearly happy to participate in. What they didn't tell me was that they'd been recruiting for a while and had already short listed someone else. After spending an hour going into a fair amount of detail, I received another email saying Great News! we want to organise a session with the VP and Co-Founder. Literally on the morning of the interview I receive an email saying that they're no longer interested, because they have offered the other candidate. What a complete and utter waste of time and effort. All of this could have been easily avoided with a bit of honesty up front. Would suggest anyone else interviewing at Grape Up ask where they are in the process before proceeding with a detailed interview, as you may spend time and effort to proceed, then not proceed.
