I applied for a position at a company through an agency, and the selection process consisted of four stages: an initial screening, a backend task, a discussion on the task with backend-focused questions, and finally, a round meant to cover frontend technologies and personal compatibility. Unfortunately, the process soured; the team lead was undeniably rude, and the manager degraded my entire career and achievements. Despite the role being advertised with a 30-70 split between frontend and backend duties, and my transparent communication about my stronger background in backend while still being capable in frontend, their expectations seemed unreasonable. It felt as though they expected me to possess the skills to overhaul their frontend infrastructure entirely. By the end of the last interview, I was convinced that working with this team was out of the question for me.
