I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Group Nine Media in Sept 2020
Interview
Interview process was pretty ordinary.
Applied online and then set up a meeting with the recruiter. After that, met with the Senior Director of Engineering and thought it went well but was rejected after that.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Group Nine Media (Los Angeles, CA) in Dec 2020
Interview
First round call with HR, second with engineering manager, take home assignment, took them several weeks to respond that they were passing, offered no feedback on the assignment which was very open ended, they expected it to be completed in a few hours, but they expected lots of functionality so seemed unfair and unrealistic.

I applied online. I interviewed at Group Nine Media
Interview
Started off with an hour of general get to you know and the next steps were the onsite. I had a final after the onsite to go over workflow processes and was rejected based on "lack of experience" and was told they went with another candidate. I do still find the position being marketed time and again so I think they are looking for a unicorn that fits their full criteria. Overall this process lasted about 2 months.
The take home assignment was a React based application working with an external API. The onsite consisted of adding a feature (I was asked 2-3 times of a feature until I told them it was implemented already), so they have a range of features to be added in case this happens. As with the other interviews mentioned it seemed like they just like wasting people's time.
There seems to be some org issues as far as I can tell. Based on the timeline, and lack of communication as well as clarity. The recruiter mentioned another position which was in Drupal and already knew I had no experience with it so the likelihood of repeating that process to be told "I lack experience" again despite showing technical depth seems rude. I don't think they support growth here, just looking for the same person with the same experience to do the same things required of their previous position.
