I wasn't looking for a job but a recruiter contacted me and hey, a company that not only helps the world with mental health but seems to have the culture supporting it too! Of course I checked it out.
Recruiter screens and manager screens went great. Then I did the take home test. They said don't spend more than 3 hours on it. Well I spent like 5ish hours but I feel like I didn't over engineer it. I felt pretty good about what I'd written too but I know they'd only recently started recruiting a mobile team so figured they might want to ask questions, etc.
Well after a week of not hearing anything, I finally reached out to them again. They simply responded with a rejection. When I asked for feedback, they claimed they couldnt tell me ANYTHING because of their legal policy.
What is with companies doing this nowadays?
Like I said before, I wasn't looking for another job but the company sounded cool and now not only did I not get the job but I got NOTHING for my time, not even any simple feedback as to what I might have done better or anything.
All I can think is that they don't currently have experienced iOS engineers so couldn't quite understand the advanced architecture of TCA I had setup. But what else am I supposed to think? All I can do is assume at this point.....
