My Interview Experience:
I attended interviews for a Program/Delivery Manager/Sr. Architect (4.2 band) position at HCL Technologies (USA location). I successfully completed three rounds of interviews with the VP, Director, and Senior Delivery Manager, all of which took place between May 3 and May 12, 2025. I received very positive feedback from all interviewers.
On May 12, 2025, HR confirmed that I had cleared all stages and that my offer was in the approval process, expected to be released soon.
It has now been over a month, and I am still waiting to receive the offer letter.
Every Monday or Tuesday, HR reaches out to revisit salary and benefits expectations and assures me that the offer will be released by Friday. However, this keeps getting pushed back.
Last week, she was informed that the team is currently considering candidates on the bench before onboarding new joiners.
In my experience, I haven’t encountered such practices before. If the company’s priority is to absorb bench candidates, that’s understandable—but once external interviews are conducted and concluded, there should be no need for weekly follow-ups that create false hope and disrupt personal plans.
I had the impression that HCL Tech was one of the best Indian-based consulting companies. Unfortunately, this experience has made me question that perception. Perhaps this is one reason why the company may be trailing behind its peers.
My suggestion: Don’t rely on verbal confirmations or trust the process with HCL Tech until you receive and finalize your expectations.
