Hover is known for a rigorous but candidate-friendly process that emphasizes transparency and objective evaluation. It typically follows these four stages:
Preliminary Screening (~30 mins): A recruiter call to discuss your background, the role, and Hover's culture. They focus on high-level behavioral alignment and logistical fit.
Hiring Manager Interview (30â45 mins): Conducted via Zoom, this session dives deeper into your technical skills and past professional experience. Be prepared for a mix of "how you work" and "what you know."
Technical Assessment / Case Study:
Engineers: Often a live coding exercise or a practical problem-solving task.
Other Roles: Typically a 60-minute presentation or case study. Hover uniquely allocates 25â30 minutes of that hour strictly for Q&A to see how you handle deep dives into your logic.
The "Onsite" (Virtual or In-person): Final rounds are designed to build rapport and assess cross-functional collaboration. These can be held in their SF or NY offices or virtually, sometimes split across multiple days to avoid "interview fatigue."
