This was a phone screening with the hiring manager. She asked questions like what brings me joy (and what drains me), what is something I've learned in the last six months, what is my ideal work environment. She gave me a few opportunity to ask my own questions. I asked about pay and she responded with the known information, also stating that they view it as a total compensation package (75% healthcare coverage, 401k, etc.). She was extremely clear about the timeline on when I would hear back one way or the other, and if we moved forward, the next steps that would include an in-person panel interview, a project, and potentially one more in-person interview.
