I applied online. I interviewed at HarperCollins (Nashville, TN) in Jan 2014
Interview
There were several interviews, both over the phone and in person. A "behavioral" interview in front of a panel of several people that's pretty brutal. The whole process took months and I never heard back from them after the final interview. Got an email months later about a different job they wanted me to apply for.

Interview
Three rounds total—HR phone screening, hiring manager, multiple managers. Very straight-forward. No editorial test. Asked questions about my internship experience, favorite authors, and ideal working environment. Very stress-free. Full process was pleasant overall
The interview was really friendly and came in two stages. They asked about experience, education and lots of competency based questions. Asked about experience and included a written task to complete ahead of the interview which was then discussed as a question.
hr screening, next round editors, readers report, then another interview. Typical questions — not extremely difficult, but definitely pays off to research the imprint and its list. Complete that readers report asap!
