I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at HarperCollins (New York, NY) in May 2015
Interview
After submitting an online application through the website and with a referral from a friend, I had a brief phone screening, followed by an interview with the HR director, then an interview with three editors on the imprint. The HR director was extremely intimidating but the editors were all very easy to talk to.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at HarperCollins (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2019
Interview
Pretty chill. The interviewer was very friendly and the interview process was just getting to know more about each other. The interviewer looked over my resume and asked some questions about my extracurricular activities.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at HarperCollins in Aug 2016
Interview
I am an English graduate and this was my very first interview, I was nervous, scared, tensed, what not ! What drew my attention was the office and the culture there. Impeccable is the word for them . The working environment had the fine breeze of positivity.
It started with a written test, I was given two essays- non fiction, fiction. I had to edit them grammatically, factually and I was allowed to make changes if I feel a particular passage isn't written correctly.
The other question asked me to write a book review of my favourite book. The last one asked for a list of books I have read in past including the ones from HC.
