I applied for a postdoc position that was clearly advertised as remote. However, the organization later changed their stance, stating that physical presence in Munich was mandatory. Despite this, I demonstrated full flexibility and proceeded with the interview process. The interview was conducted by someone who openly admitted to having no experience in that specific research area and had totally different background. After that interview, I was ghosted without any communication for over a month. It was only after I followed up that I was informed they had decided to move forward with another candidate. The entire experience was deeply disappointing, and it has left me with a negative impression of Helmholtz. I do not intend to apply for any roles there in the future!
