I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Homebase in Jan 2026
Interview
The process started somewhat informally - I was contacted directly and not asked for a resume, which suggested a more flexible hiring approach. The recruiter interaction was fine, though it felt somewhat sales-oriented, primarily focused on moving me forward in the process. The PM was thoughtful and engaging
However, the final presentation experience was less strong. One panelist appeared distracted for a significant portion of the session and was on their phone typing away, which was disappointing given the level of preparation candidates typically invest for these interviews. At senior levels, interview settings are also a reflection of team culture and operating norms, so attentiveness and engagement matter.

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Homebase (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
I was contacted on LinkedIn and scheduled a 45 minute phone call with the hiring manager.
Had a pleasant talk that mostly consisted of structured/scripted questions. Pretty clear Homebase is focused on objective hiring.
Was brought in for an in person that consisted of presenting a homework assignment and conversations with the VP of product, two designers, two PMs, and a strategy lead.
Overall it was a pretty pleasant experience. People were mostly friendly (except one of the designers) and the conversations were enjoyable.
Ultimately I did not make it to the next round, but found the experience a positive one
