I answered that coming out of college, I was going to be an accountant and was getting ready to do my CPA, I was already working as a bookeeper for a company and saw an ad in the newspaper one day about becoming a stockbroker, took the test and passed the series 7, then applied to Charles Schwab for an opening in 1987. I interviewed for the job and they like me, they called me the following wednesday and offered me the job and gave me till friday to decided if I want the job, but unfortunately for me friday was October 17, 1987 (Black Friday), the stockmarket went down over 500 points. When I called, the HR ask me if I had quit my job, I said no, and they told me to stay there since they are trying to get rid of some of their people. I waited a few years and re-applied and was offered a job in the industry.
