I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at IGA (Rock Hill, SC) in Oct 2012
Interview
Upon referral from someone who works there already, I went to the manager's office at the store and received a paper application. I filled it out, came back in to talk to the manager, he asked me a series of very general questions (can you work with people? have you worked before? nights and weekends? etc) and then told me he would get back to me. I called the next day and he had a training schedule for the following week set up for me.
I completed a written application and had an in person interview that was casual and informal. The interview took about 30 minutes, and the manager showed me around the store.
Interview was quick and easy, but I passed because it just wasn't a good fit for me. I wanted something more towards deli but they interviewed me for cashier. It was positive though.
during the interview, they were professional, asked pertinent questions and tested my skills in both French and English. it was a well organized interview process. I enjoyed the process and would have taken the job if i didn't get a job somewhere else first
