I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IPPSR in Nov 2010
Interview
I turned in an application in person and got a call a few days after. I did a group interview at Berkey Hall with 5 other people, which was a very simple process. They were very upfront with the details of the job and the schedule they needed from people, and actually don't mind if you leave the group interview early if you are not interested (one person left in mine). After this they have everyone read a script very much like the one you would read when you make calls, and if you have an IQ above the 5th grade level you should be fine. There are then five questions they go around and ask everyone to answer, most of them being fairly easy and popular interview questions. I remember one being "Recall a time you encountered a problem with someone...how did you attempt to fix it and what was the outcome?". Also having prior cold-calling/telemarketing experience will almost guarantee you the job.
