I received and invite at first and responded on the same day to schedule the interview and was told they were no longer interviewing. I received another invite a few weeks later and everything went as planned.

I would say that the interview process was extremely formal and stringent. The representatives that interviewed me were very sarcastic and we're clearly looking for specific answers. If those were not the answers, you were immediately disqualified.

Applied on-line at USAjobs.gov, got a Notice of Results, then got a panel interview. From initial application to the interview, took 8 months. That's typical, anytime I call to check on the status the person at the IRS would advise me to be patient. The core of the interview consists of 5 questions, 3 about accounting and 2 about IRS forms
