Thank you for your review. I looked into your allegation and am pleased to report that our Director’s decision to end your interview 5 minutes after your LGBT inquiry had nothing to do with your sexual orientation.
Net/Net: You were interviewing for a job (representing our company) to provide AV services under contract to guests in a Hotel setting and, after 5 minutes, he concluded you were not a good fit.
Successful applicants for positions within the hospitality industry typically present themselves as customer service professionals. You simply did not do so...
Going forward you may want to assume the role you’re interviewing for. (AKA Look and act the part / you only get one chance to make a good first impression)
a) Dress appropriately: Comb your hair, avoid wrinkled shorts and a tee shirt); and
b) Assume the role you’ll play if hired. In this case: Be hospitable …answer questions fully, engage the person you speaking with and avoid clipped answers.
