I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Indeed in Jan 2019
Interview
Call with recruiter followed by a call with director.
After that there is a technical interview performed by a third party (karat) and this was completely useless.
Automatic denial if minimal of two programming challenges aren’t completed. Simple bug took too long to locate (even interviewer) and therefore enough challenges weren’t completed.
I would recommend anyone interviewing with ANY company using karat to request different evaluation or apply with a different company. Using Karat shows the company is worried more about saving time and money than finding knowledgeable candidates with a good team fit. After all the best way to find that is for team members to perform the interview and see what its like working with someone and knowing how they respond to a situation and solve problems rather than meet some arbitrary minimum goal.
Remember interviews are a two way street and any company that uses this service and bases a decision on its outcome is ONLY concerned with the cost savings and not long term team for and quality of candidates.
Even if indeed made me an offer after this process I would reject it unless karat was never used again.
