I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at InquisIT (Chantilly, VA)
Interview
Got contacted by the company recruited and, after a short conversation, was invited to the onsite interview. The company location was very remote.
The onsite interview was one of the worst experiences one can imagine. At least 4-5 people interviewed me at the same time, all we males (which raises a lot of questions regarding the equal growth opportunities within the company).
The interview started with them casually throwing their business cards to the table. Each of them randomly asked questions. It lasted for at least one hour. Then they gave me a test task which no one mentioned during the phone conversation. After the test task was done, they all came back, checked it, and casually asked what the last book I read was. I named the book, but asking this question in the 21 century should be a crime. Seriously. Then they questioned me at least for 30 more minutes and said they wanted to schedule a follow-up interview. When I came home, I received another huge test task. It took me a couple of days to accomplish. After I sent out the test task, there was a week-long silence, and the day before my follow up interview, I received a phone call from the same recruiter saying that the company decided not to invite me for another interview.
My overall conclusion: that interview was a pure waste of time. I do not even think they wanted to hire anyone. I am quite sure the company used multiple test tasks from the candidates to accomplish their project, and that was it.
