Interview
Applied via Indeed. I was surprised to have been already called after 30 minutes or so.
When I arrived at their office, an HR person asked me “Applicant?” Strange. Why didn’t they address me by my name? Why is it like they are not expecting me? Red flag? Then it occured to me then—I was only one of many applicants they’re interviewing. Expendable. Okay then, I’ll forgive.
When I was called, they gave me hand-outs without giving instructions on how to proceed. Repeat: without explicit instructions. I was bewildered, so I stormed out of the room to look for them and asked about some basic stuff that is the instructions.
I was to write an essay about the passages I read. The test took about 2 hours.
After that, they asked me if I’m finished and requested for my résumé. Yes. They didn’t ask me my résumé at the outset. It confirmed my feelings about being expendable. Just another applicant.
The interview went well. Questions were pretty basic. They were nice. They even complimented me.
I was told to wait for an update about the schedule of the next interview. I didn’t bother to send a thank you e-mail.
