I was asked to come in late, after their current AP/AR person left for the day, which I understand the need to be discreet. I spent an hour with (name redacted), discussing how I could fill their immediate need for a replacement AR/AP person, and by the end of the interview she was asking me if I would be interested in taking on some of their HR duties as well. I was given a tour and felt the interview went well. With 18 years of office management experience I would have been a good asset to a company that was going through some growing pains. Since (name redacted) was afraid of her employee getting "wind" of why I was there - yes the employee had stayed late - she made up this ruse in front of the employee about thanking me for coming in to interview for the HR position (which didn't exist). Her parting words were that she would call the hiring agent. As someone who admitted she'd "moved up through the company" she struck me as completely out of her element, from the large stacks of paper strung out all over the office to her somewhat unprofessional choice of clothing for my interview. Though I thought things went okay, I realized as the evening went on, thinking more about the day, that I would be a threat to her and knew I would not be working there.
I am sorry that I cannot recommend this company.
