I applied online. I interviewed at Intersect (San Francisco, CA) in May 2026
Interview
I was very excited to interview with this company but came into it aware of the pretty bad reviews it got. My first interview with the recruiter went well. She asked about my experience and touched on the salary expectations + bonus and perks. I got to ask about how feedback is given, work-life balance, and the tech stack. After that interview I spoke with the IT Director who was also very nice, very direct as well which I appreciated. We again talked about my experience, some scenarios, about the company's structure, and her management style. I asked about work-life balance again among other questions. That interview was successful so I then met with the only other IT engineer on the team. I thought it went well and we got to connect. I could tell this person had very little experience in running an interview though. They used a lot of tech buzzwords very unnaturally which kept throwing her and I off.
I will note that the IT director and this engineer worked together at a previous company and the director said she brought this person with her. Hopefully this prior relationship won't affect whoever their 3rd person is.
I thought the interviews went well and was excited to continue but after a week of not hearing from anyone, I got an email from the recruiter that they have chosen to go a different route.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you onboard a large group of people? How do you handle remote support?
Very standard, conversational interviews with both individuals and groups. Nice to interview with people in other departments for a view into the culture of the company. No weird behavioral questions. Low pressure and the process moved quickly and smoothly. Great communication.
The interview was very efficient and straightforward. There was nothing unexpected and it generally felt more conversational than a traditional formal interview. There were several rounds including with the internal recruiter, folks in the department I would be working with and folks in other departments.
