I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at JLR (Warwick, West Midlands, England) in Feb 2017
Interview
First, we went in as a group of 10. It started off with a short video outlining what JLR does. We had 3 different tasks and we were split into two groups to do them.
The first task was an in-tray exercise which was a group task. We had to choose the best supplier for in-car entertainment systems from a selection of 6. To do so, each of us were given a different sheet containing information about a certain supplier. We then had to reveal information about the suppliers to the rest of the group without showing anyone the sheet we had. This was, I presume, to test our communication skills. We were given a time limit of 45 minutes.
Next, we had a mini test which we had to do individually. We had to read a few emails and answer a few multiple choice questions for each one. This was a very time pressured exercise.
The final task was a one to one interview. There were a few different interviewers, which meant multiple people were being interviewed at the same time.
Overall, the assessment day was very well laid out and the staff seemed very genuine and were very helpful in answering any questions we had.
