      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Rochester, NY) in Aug 2024

      Interview

I met with 3 people - the hiring lead, the hiring lead's boss, and a colleague. One interview was in person and the rest were by Zoom. I was told I would next talk to a recruiter.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (New York, NY) in Nov 2013

      Interview

I went through three interviews, including an initial phone interview, and then two in-person interviews. The atmosphere during the interviews was friendly, and we mainly discussed my experience and how it relates to the job, as well as the nature of the position for which I interviewed. My phone interview was with an HR rep and was very short. My in person interviews were with people who actually work in the department and would understand the nature of my experience and how it applies to the position. It was very nice to be interviewed by people in the department who asked questions pertaining to the job rather than some of the generic-yet-challenging (and difficult and irrelevant) questions HR personnel are so notorious for asking during interviews. Overall, the process was very nice and easygoing.

      Question 1

The most difficult question was "what is your biggest weakness?" I know this is a common, if not universal, question, and people who ask it are probably tired of hearing "I'm a perfectionist" or "I'm a workaholic." It is hard to answer this question honestly without making yourself look bad. I suggest answering with something that is at worst slightly problematic and also explaining how you are aware of your shortcomings and constantly seek to improve them. An additional difficult question they asked me is why do I want to work for JP Morgan when I am qualified for many other positions in my field.
