The position was advertised on the gumtree.co.uk website.
I sent my CV and cover letter in response, then a day later received a phone call from the store manager.
She gave a brief overview of the company, and the role and what would be involved.
Following that I was required to tell her a bit about myself, my knowledge of photography and work background. I was then invited for a face-to-face meeting.
I was taken to the staff room at the back, told the day-to-day activites and given an in-depth description of what would be required from me. There were a few more questions about me, but most had been covered over the phone. I was briefly introduced to my future co-workers and show around the workplace.
The people were relaxed and friendly, the workplace clean and bright.
Two days later I received a call to tell me I had won the position.
TIP: I learnt later that every store manager has the same recruitment process they work from in the form of a script, if you can speak to a current or former employer they will be able to tell you the exact same thing and what to expect.
