I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Jefferies (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2011
Interview
I got a foot in with the interview process because of previous employer knew a managing director at Jefferies. I first went in for an informational interview with that MD and left really wanting to work at Jefferies. In OCR interviews, I was interviewed by someone I had met at the info session, so I was a bit relieved. That relief turned into anxiety as this person (one out of two) started with rapid fire in-depth technical questions. As for fit, there was the usual tell me about yourself, walk me through your resume, and why this firm.

Question 1
If a firm with a lower P/E buys a firm with a high P/E, is it accretive or dilutive?
The interview process consisted of a phone screen, a first round interview, and finally a superday. This was all conducted via zoom and the process was relatively quick. It was roughly two weeks from start to finish.

Question 1
What makes you think you can work the long hours required of this role?
I applied online. I interviewed at Jefferies (London, England)
Interview
The Jefferies interview process was unexpectedly slow and drawn-out. While the content remained standard for investment banking—focusing on typical technical and behavioural questions—the overall length was disappointing. I found the timeline unnecessarily long compared to other firms, which impacted my overall candidate experience.
