Interview
JLLT's interview was a standard video conference call with the hiring manager. It started with introductions, and then moved into general and behavioral questions, and then finished with questions from the interviewee.
It was a standard interview, but the worse thing was the hiring manager, who was a Director. It was a video conference call, and the director didn't have his video on. He showed his face for 10 seconds during the introductions, and then turned it off. I didn't have the courage to ask if I should turn mine off either, but who does this in the first place not to set expectations for a video call? If we didn't need to show our faces, then say so in the invite, but to communicate that it was a video interview, and only have the interviewee show her face is just awkward and rude. It's a bit creepy.
