      QA Content Review Specialist Interview

      15 Apr 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tampa, FL
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KnowBe4

      Interview

Initially, I applied for a different role within the organization. An HR representative reached out and recommended the QA role based off my previous experience. After a first-call screening, I was given an assessment to complete before a video interview. The call was held by multiple employees.

An example of how I dealt with a difficult team member.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at KnowBe4 (Tampa, FL) in Apr 2021

      Interview

One 30 minute call with a recruiter, then a single Zoom interview with VP of Courseware, QA Manager and a recruiter. Second interview was about 45 minutes long. Everyone was very courteous and on time, and were able to answer my questions in detail. They require and provide an online IQ test, Culture Test, and Aptitude Test. Some references as well. My negative feedback here is not that I did not receive an offer, but that the role changed during the interview process. KnowBe4 was asking for their normal QA Content Review position, but they noticed that I was bilingual, and during the second panel interview they morphed the role into a hybrid Review/Translation Adjudication role, and I had not been informed of this prior to the interview. At the end of the interview they expected me as a candidate to accept the sudden change in responsibilities at the same salary level. Translation services come at a high premium particularly when a human is involved, and I asked to re approach our salary conversation. The next day I received a non-offer email.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What are some QA processes/tools you've used before? What's a time where you had a disagreement with a coworker? How do you manage and prioritize tasks?

Hello and thank you for your feedback. It seems that there may have been some misunderstandings on the nature of the position you were applying for. This position and its job duties have not changed in any way. This role is expected to work with our linguistics vendors to do functional testing of any translations. The role will not perform any translations on their own and in no way requires a bilingual candidate. Because there was no change in job duties and no need for a candidate to speak additional languages, the pay for this position remained the same. We hope that you find a position that better aligns with the skills you are looking to use and wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors!
