      Digital Marketing Analyst Interview

      30 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Kobe Digital (US)

      Interview

I applied online and a lady contacted me and carefully listened to all my experiences and it sounded that I was overqualified but she was kind enough to link me with the company. I went there and I met the founders and I must say that I was very disappointed. It was great that they started their company and they were motivated and wanted to go above and beyond, however, they said they wanted to keep their operations as a start-up? I'm not sure if that is a good technique, and I wasn't there to advise them. I hope they both will take some classes in professionalism and how to interview and how to speak with people who will invest their time and energy into their company. I went back home and luckily I had received a great offer the same day and contacted them immediately to thank them for their time and consideration however, they never replied.

      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kobe Digital (US) (Woodland Hills, CA) in Dec 2018

      Interview

First I had a phone call describing to me the type of job I applied for. The lady on the phone suggested to take a free online course on topics related to the position (since I didn't have some of the skills required) like google adwords. I took a few days to read the entire instructional information about adwords and wrote notes down. When I had the first round interview, needless to say, it was a joke. The two people in the charge of the interview (the co-CEOs) didn't take the interview seriously. Be prepared to practice your mental math, pen catching skills, and quarter counting/geometry in advance. According to the interviewers, you need to be able to do well under pressure for a marketing analyst job so they toss a pen at you at a random point during the interview and asking other unrelated questions. One of the interviewers was thinking about something funny and laughed a majority of the time, interrupting what I was saying to the other person. This wasn't the last of the interruptions that occurred. I was asked to describe how I worked in teams and while I was responding, the CEO who did not ask the question interrupted me. Remember to do your research beforehand because these guys literally said nothing about the company. By the end of the interview I described more of the company than they did. That's pretty sad. Also, remember how I told you that lady during the first phone call suggested to learn about adwords. Yeah, none of that was even mentioned during the interview.
