      Consultant Interview

      11 May 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Washington, DC
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kx Advisors (Washington, DC) in May 2026

      Interview

It was an overall good experience. Right before my phone call with the recruiter, she canceled the call and said she was busy. We never actually followed up on that. I just got through the first round of the interview. The interviewer was super sweet and she guided me a couple of times during the interview till I get to the path where she was looking for.

      Consultant Interview

      11 Dec 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kx Advisors (Boston, MA) in Dec 2021

      Interview

1 hour interview behavioral and market sizing case interview. 90 minute written test 4 hours of interviews - 2 case interviews, 2 behavioral. This process is pretty terrible and it will seriously interfere with your work life. It seems like the company is geared towards fresh out of school hires or consultant industry hires. There seemed to be an absence of actual scientific research background. On one of the case interviews the pie chart did not equal 100%. They told me I could use a calculator only once I turned up to the interview. Note: do not use an iPhone calculator as it turns out it does not do billions unless you turn it landscape. The interview process is now remote, in a couple of interviews my connection was poor and I could not properly hear the questions. I sort of guessed based on the data. The questions were the standard unrealistic case interviews that do not exist anywhere in the world. They are highly preoccupied with their testing. At the point in which you have spent 90 minutes preparing a market analysis it seems unnecessary subjecting you to case interviews. I basically lost an entire work day to this process. They appear to be going through applicants because they waited an entire week to send out their rejection email. They offered feedback though I am not really interested in any company that wastes 6 and half hours of a candidate’s time in interviews and still says ‘no.’ Truthfully, if a company requires 6.5 hours of interviews to assess a candidate then they obviously do not understand what they are looking for. These interview processes are disturbing these companies are essentially having people lose productive work hours and pay to take part in interview processes that are a total waste of time. If a person applied for four jobs and every job subjected them to 6.5 hours of interviews they would likely be fired by their current employer. At some point these companies should be forced to pay interview candidates for their time, since they are the ones who are so prepared to waste it.
