I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at LMI (Tysons Corner, VA) in Feb 2023
Interview
Referred by a current employee. The recruiter contacted me the next day. Had 1st team interview for the following week. Had 2nd case study interview about a week and half later. Was offered the position two weeks later. Accepted it - after getting additional clarification - one week later. The recruiter kept me informed every step of the way. Was the best interview/hiring experience I've had.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
STAR interview style. Scenario-based questions. Work style questions. Case study.
The interview process began with an initial screening conversation conducted by a recruiter to assess general fit and interest. This was followed by a sequence of one-on-one interviews with potential peers and senior leaders within the organization, each designed to evaluate subject matter expertise, interpersonal skills, and alignment with the team’s values and culture. The process concluded with a panel interview involving multiple stakeholders, as well as a mock presentation intended to assess the candidate’s communication skills, analytical thinking, and ability to engage an audience effectively under evaluative conditions.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at LMI (Washington, DC) in Jul 2022
Interview
I applied online and also had an internal referral from a current employee. The recruiter contacted me the next day. I had to provide my salary expectations before the interview - my expectations were higher than the maximum being offered for the position, so there was some negotiation in advance about whether I was willing to accept the salary range and benefits on offer. Interview was scheduled a week later, and I received an offer the next day. Only one interview - the person with authority to hire was the one who interviewed me (this seems to be LMI standard practice).
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
I was asked about my previous experiences in the military and work history since departing the military, why I chose to go back for an MBA, and my experiences working in teams. The formal interview portion lasted appx 35 min of the allotted hour.
