No clear feedback was ever given as to why I was rejected at the initial screening: that would have been 1000x times more professional and helpful than a 15-paragraph automated email on how much they like ice cream and hope to host you for "tiny cakes" and a coffee if they like you. I think constructive and open communication is worth ten thousand times more than that.
