Recruiter reached out to me for the position and I initially declined a follow up interview with the company but proceeded because he pressed I at least give it a try. Phone interview goes well then I do a video interview, of which the recruiter was constantly emailing me/texting/calling me to make sure I was prepared and ready. I think he thought for sure I would get the position which is why he cared so much. Video interview went well, recruiter went radio silent for 5 days. I follow up with him and he states "they're trying to open up a new position for you today after meeting with their exec team". I obviously got excited and felt special. Recruiter goes silent AGAIN for another week until I follow up AGAIN, to which he answers and laments that the position fell through and they hired another person. I'm extremely bothered the recruiter did not tell me this as soon as he knew and then stopped caring about me after that call because I texted him a follow up and he ignored the text! From nonstop contact to no communication is very disrespectful to a candidate's time. I suspect it was because of my salary requirements which the recruiter was constantly trying to ask me about because it was on the "high end" of what they wanted to hire someone for.
