The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Laserfiche (Long Beach, CA) in Dec 2009
Interview
Interviewer was polite and nice. In the first-round phone interview, she asked me some basic OO concept such like "What is polymorphism". After this interview, I got two assignments to do. One is basic recurssion programming problem and the other one is about busines which I was not good at.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Programming problem:
You are developing an algorithm for dispensing stamps for a postage stamp vending machine. Write a function that will return the minimum number of stamps for a given value. Assume that there will always be a one cent stamp in the machine.
The function prototype looks like:
int min_number_of_stamps ( const int* array, /* input array of sorted stamp values */ size_t array_size, /* number of elements in array */ int request /* desired value to of stamps */
);
The function will return the minimum number of stamps for a given value.
As an example, if the array was [90,30,24,15,12,10,5,3,2,1] and the request was "32", the output should be "2", one 30 cent stamp and one 2 cent stamp.
Things to keep in mind: 1. Assume that a junior programmer is going to read your code. You
should include comments and any other aides that you use to
communicate your code to other developers. 2. Optimize code for speed. 3. The code should compile and work. Please send it as an attached
text file. 4. The code should work for countries with high denomination values
where stamp values of 1000 or 9000 are common. 5. Although you are free to use any compiler, the target compiler is
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Laserfiche (Toronto, ON) in Sept 2024
Interview
The interview process had 3 rounds - HR screening, OA and 2-hour onsite technical. During the onsite, the first hour focused on questions about my resume and past experiences. In the second hour, I solved one SQL question and one medium-level Leetcode question.
After waiting 3 days without any update, I sent a follow-up email. 30 minutes later, they sent me a rejection.

Interview
Online assessment with 4 questions to do in 90 min. First 2 were basic String-related questions, last 2 were harder, one had to do with dfs, the other with more recursion stuff.

Interview
Toxic. HR was like an interrogator, trying to find out all my personal background including parts that are irrelevant to the job. Including my birthplace, age. Manager was denying almost every question you asks him by saying things like “your question is meaningless”, “why asking such a question?”, “that doesn’t matter”. He also said “based on your profile, I assume you’re around …, it is a disadvantage for you in the job market”
