I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lasso in Nov 2023
Interview
The interview went poorly for me. The interviewer mistook me for someone else at first, then s/he clearly wasn't interested in my experience. It led to an instant reject with "we will contact you if we have a new role open to better match your skill".
I applied online. I interviewed at Lasso (Austin, TX) in Dec 2020
Interview
Relatively standard interview process without an HR screen. Was interviewed by the CTO who ran through my resume asking me about things I've done in the past, what I knew about Lasso, why I was interested in Lasso etc. Second and from what I understand was the final round consisted of a 1.5 hour long group panel interview with CTO and two other engineers where we ran through questions in SQL, followed by some python programming, and my experience in Google Cloud or AWS as they're a GCP partner. Also spoke with the CEO as I was on an expedited timeline due to having received another offer which was very accommodating. Only gripe is I didn't hear back after over a week after which I didn't even bother following up as I took this as a tacit decline from their side.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Primarily SQL questions around basic joins, aggregates, filtration. Subsequent questions involved computing a median function from scratch which is non-trivial, and another involved using the PIVOT function in SQL.
