I was referred to the position by someone outside the company, although it was advertised on NYFA and other sites. I met with the person who was moving out of the role and who would ultimately be training their replacement, so it was nice to meet them right away. Then the Director of the gallery at the time met with me and asked similar questions. I had to walk past a room with many people working on laptops which was intimidating since they all looked up when you walked by.
