      Asset Manager Interview

      23 Oct 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Greenville, SC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lima One Capital (Greenville, SC) in Sept 2024

      Interview

The interview process began fairly straightforwardly. It started with a short screening interview over the phone, which was pretty standard. The second interview was with two interviewers via Zoom which went very well. Both individuals were very personable and knowledgeable and asked great questions. Unfortunately, this is where things take a turn. For a third round interview, I met with two more individuals. To start, the interview started 5 minutes late with only one of the individuals joining. To say this individual put in minimal effort or interest in this call would be generous. The interviewer came off combative and was asking multiple questions in rapid succession. When the other interviewer finally decided to join the call, the individual hardly said more than 3 words. No questions, no comments, no interactions, aside from saying "you have to hit the ground running and be a real self starter to survive here" (big red flag). Finally, the two individuals decided to cut our already short 30 minute interview short by a few minutes after gracing me with their "charm and enthusiasm." Two weeks go by and I hear nothing, so I decided to reach out via email for an update. Nothing. A week later I sent another follow up email, again nothing. Finally after a month of zero updates, I sent a final email stating I am no longer interested in the role and that I hope they respect future candidates time by actually communicating with them the status of their candidacy. Magically I get a near instant reply with some excuse on how their "wires got crossed" and I should have been notified (sure). While there are definitely some great individuals that work at Lima One Capital, my experience tells me that this is quite a poorly run organization. While they claimed they were hiring multiple positions due to growth, based on research and other reviews, I think they burn people out quickly and experience quite a lot of turnover.
