I went through four rounds of interviews with a screener, senior management, the team I'd be working with, and then the role's direct manager. I probably spent six hours interviewing with Lost Boys total, wrapping up in early June. Everyone I spoke with on the team was very positive on my experience and design skillset. However, following my final interview the recruiter told me that while they really wanted to hire me, they couldn't get the role open until July. July came and went, and no one reached out to me. I emailed the recruiter in the middle of July and asked for an update, and he said that he had none. They never updated me again. I understand there were issues with Lost Boys' ownership earlier in the year. But there is no excuse for not updating a candidate promptly about the hiring situation. Respect the candidate's time and they will respect you in turn. If you can't be certain about hiring, don't expect a candidate to sit around for weeks not interviewing.
