Interview
The hiring process was rather simple. I applied online to be a seasonal cashier employee. I received a phone call after a week for an interview. I could have chosen to have the interview the following day or the day after. To be honest, I was not expecting to receive an interview, and so I did not have a lot of time to prepare. On the day of the interview, I asked an employee where to go. I took a seat and waited to be called in. The person interviewing me was nice and friendly. She asked me basic questions in the beginning and then five situational questions, which I thought was overkill as the job didn't seem to require such a great deal of experience. Unfortunately, I did not get the job due to lack of preparation and retail experience.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to follow a detailed set of instructions in order to accomplish a challenging task or project.
Describe a time when you went above and beyond to exceed a customer's expectations. If you do not have experience working with regular customers, tell me about a situation where you went above and beyond to exceed expectations of a teacher or a peer.

Interview
I applied online and got a call from HR a day later. They did a basic phone screening, asking about availability, past customer service/sales experience, etc. HR was really friendly, just be personable and chatty and they'll see that you'll be good in a customer service roll. Then they asked me to come in for a one-on-one interview with my would-be boss in 3 days. One-on-one interview was easy too, asked about 5 easy situational questions (how did you react to these 5 broad scenarios in the past at work or school) and asked more about my past experience. I was offered the job on the spot.

I went in for an interview and it took like 10 minutes then she asked me to have a seat at the table and another lady came and brought a drug test, papers to sign for a backround check and employee documents.
