I applied online. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement
Interview
Each store hires independently... Have to pass psych test online... Then monitor each store in your geographic range weekly and apply to each opening you are willing to take... I tracked 4-5 stores for 2-3 months and applied for many positions before being called for 2-4 different positions... The people who contacted me were unaware of their peers who had also contacted me... Ended up interviewing for 2 different sales specialist positions simultaneously with store manager -- after online screening -- after separate phone and store interviews for district positions... store manager skipped preliminaries and engaged directly for 30-45 minutes with open ended questions interspersed with me providing background info... Answered standard sort of 'what if' type questions, attitude questions, etc... My impression of the process is it is mainly dependent on the store, the manager(s), and how badly they need someone and how well you present yourself.. If you are more professional, experienced, and present yourself well, you can get a higher offer... The offer you accept more or less locks you into what you will continue to get -- if you want more, do well and transfer positions or seek promotions...

Question 1
There were occaional 'role playing' scenarios -- I didn't find them that difficult -- possibly due to previous sales, retail mgmt, and construction experience... If you are interviewing for a higher level job, you shouldn't be surprised....

Question 1
Are you able to perform in a team environment, or do you prefer to work alone?
The interview process was very quick yet efficient! I heard within a week of applying and had an interview shortly after. Once the interview was over, they told me the next steps and a few days later I started the position. I want to say it was about 2 weeks in total from start to finish, maybe a little less.

Interview
Booked an interview with the HR rep at a local store. Completed online app. Arrived early. The HR rep was not in the building.
I was shuffled off to meet with an assistant manager. He could not access my app and nobody on his team could either.
We sat down for an "interview" and he had a photo copy of some document as a guide.
Typical questions - "Tell me about a time . . " and a few more favorites.
I left and never heard another peep out of them.
I shop at Lowes and for the most part find the experience acceptable.
The experience left me very disappointed.
Never again. And Home Depot gets all my dollars now.
