Be prepared, ask other specialists to mentor you. Definitely do research on the department your applying. Expect job specific scenarios to be asked. I went to another store as a customer to see how a customer's questions were answered.

Basic understanding of Outdoor Power Equipment is key. Always have a few stories about helping customers above and beyond the call of duty. Have a few things you feel you need to work on in the future and how you're going to get better at them. Show them you have people skills and can solve problems as they happen. Use any overtime experience to show you are dedicated and willing to help out when needed.
