I applied for a PM role via LinkedIn and was called for an interview a few days after applying. This interview was a kick-off interview with HR only. It was a straightforward interview. However, one question the HR rep asked that I found unsettling was what my salary expectations entailed. She added Lundin does not disclose their salary band for roles until later in the recruitment process. I said I wasn't comfortable disclosing my salary expectation unless Lundin would do the same. I also said transparency is highly important to me when considering a new employer. The HR rep conceded and told me the salary band for the role. Needless to say, it is much lower than my current role.
Lundin Mining should operate from a fair, equal and transparent approach in their recruitment processes. If they ask a candidate for information, they should be willing to answer the same question (immediately). In addition, they should work from their value statement in all areas of their business - recruitment as well. Both the interviewer and I agreed the role and salary were too low for me to be considered any further.
