      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Lynton in Mar 2022

      Interview

The interview process was excellent. I was changing industries entirely and had a lot to learn. This was one of the few application responses I got in which the person I was talking to was actually someone I'd be working under. After I applied, communication with my now-manager over email was courteous and efficient. After some discussion about which role and level I'd be qualified to come into, I was offered an interview. The interview was put off for a while because the manager was starting paternity leave (which was the first sign that this company really takes care of its employees). The first interview was with my now-manager. He started with a little bit about the company and role, then focused a lot on my role at the time and we discussed whether that big of a transition would be a good idea for me. This conversation was collaborative and informative. The manager not only shared his goals, but also recent growing pains in the company/department and how they were trying to address them. Huge green flag that they accept reality, then evaluate and improve on their processes. The second interview still involved my now-manager, as well as two people on his team that I now currently work with. Those two people had a great mix of background and experience, being able to share what it's like to be at the company for a while, as well as what it was like to join recently from another field. They focused a bit on what the job is like, but moreso they asked me to expand on what they viewed to be the transferable skills from my job at the time. This was great because I got to speak at length about topics I was familiar with in my own language rather than try to catch up and BS about an industry I was just now learning about. The third interview was with the CEO of the company. He briefed me on what he had heard about my application and interviews, shared some about the hisory, current state, and direction of the company, asked about my personal and professional goals and explained how he thought my role and department might fit in with those goals. He had a lot of institutional knowledge to share, but was mainly curious about my motivations and background. It was obvious that he put a lot of faith in his managers' recommendations. Again, a great sign to me that this is a healthy work environment. Same as the other interviews, this interview was comfortable, informative, and encouraging. The last potential hiccup was that I had two months left on my contract my employer at the time. I had professional and ethical reservations about breaking that contract due to the nature of my work. This was heard, respected, and I was made an offer with a delayed start date that didn't force me to make that tough decision. This was the final action from management that pushed my view of an opportunity at Lynton over the edge from "good opportunity" to "too good to pass up". I accepted the the role and most everything has been as advertised.

      Question 1

Definitely be familiar with the company values, they will likely come up in the interview process. Otherwise, my interview process was specific to me and my own circumstance and most questions weren't general or routine enough to be noted.
