I must start by saying how above board I feel the HR interviewer was. They worked to create a fair, transparent interview, but the experience was at such an intensive pace that it felt like an interrogation. I know interviews are supposed to be difficult, but there must have been a dozen questions in a 45-minute period with rapid succession. There was no ability to have conversation or a natural pace with the interviewer, making me more nervous than usual. Although I prepared many examples related to managing programs and projects, I was never simply and directly asked about projects I've managed. Maybe I take things too much at face value as a candidate, but I've been told to turn every bullet point in a job ad into a question and give examples. Not many guessable Q's in this one. I was also disappointed that I was not asked any questions related to the program itself I'd be managing, which was a bulk of my expertise and preparation. 3-part Q's are the worst...especially if you are asking unique questions there is no way you can prepare for. I prefer to keep it simple. Overall, I'm a very hard, driven professional who puts in above average effort, but the process felt excessive and was a culture turn off.
